Miller & Partner Ltd is an independent commercial insurance broker specialising in hard-to-place and emerging-technology risks, with a dedicated focus on the heat network sector.

We arrange and advise on insurance for heat network developers, owners, operators and ESCos across the full project lifecycle, from design and construction through to commissioning and long-term operation. This includes construction and contractors’ all risks cover, property damage and business interruption for energy centres, plant and distribution networks, public and products liability, professional indemnity for design and consultancy work, environmental impairment liability, and mechanical and electrical breakdown for CHP, heat pump and thermal storage assets.

Our role is to help clients present their risk clearly to insurers, secure appropriate cover where standard markets may be reluctant, and structure programmes that reflect the regulatory obligations now applying to the sector, including Heat Network Technical Assurance Scheme requirements and Ofgem regulation. We also support clients with contractual insurance requirements under supply agreements, connection agreements and construction contracts.
